ريال مدريد (الفريق الملكي) هو فريق كرة قدم إسباني في الدرجة الأولى يلقب بفريق القرن أو الملكي ، يضم مجموعة من أفضل وأشهر لاعبي كرة القدم في العالم أمثال رونالدو وزين الدين زيدان و روبرتو كارلوس و راؤول غونزاليس و آيكر كاسيلاس ومايكل سالغادو و إيفان هيليجيرا وديفيد بكهام وروبينهو وتوماس غريفيسن.

يرأسه حاليا فلورانتينو بيريز وهو لاعب سابق أيضا في نفس النادي ، تتمثل رؤيته بأن ريال مدريد يجب ان يكون دائما على رأس كرة القدم العالمية دائما. يقوم النادي حاليا بإعمار أكبر مدينة رياضية على وجه الأرض في مدريد والتي تضم كل ما يمكن ان يحتاجه لاعب كرة القدم. فاز بكأس أبطال أوروبا 9 مرات في تاريخه يليه إيه سي ميلان الإيطالي بست مرات. وفاز في بطولة الدوري المحلي 29 مرة في تاريخه كما حصل على كأس الملك 17 مرة والكأس القارية 3 مرات وكأس الاتحاد الأوروبي مرتين وكأس السوبر الإسباني 6 مرات وكأس الأندية الأسبانية مرة واحدة. يسمى ملعب ريال مدريد سانتياغو بيرنابيو وقد سمي هذا الملعب بهذا الاسم نسبة لرئيسه السابق سانتياغو بيرنابيو الذي حقق معه النادي 16 لقب في 35سنة.افتتح هذا الاستاد عام 1947 ويتسع لحوالي 80 ألف متفرج. أكبر نتيجة فاز بها ريال مدريد في الدوري كانت 11-1 على نادي إلتشه في 7 فبراير عام 1960, كما فاز على نادي برشلونة بالكأس 1-11 في 13 يونيو 1943, وكانت أكبر خسارة بالدوري من نادي إسبانيول 8-1 في 3 مارس 1930 م. وقد ظهر 765 لاعب لفريق ريال مدريد, 583 منهم كانو إسبان والباقي من 31 بلد مختلف.
